The 2004 Federal Reserve Payments
Study
This report summarizes the findings of
the 2004 Federal Reserve Payments Study. The study included
the two research efforts noted below to estimate the annual
number and value of significant types of noncash payments in
the United States. The study estimated the number and value
of payments by check, automated clearing house (ACH), credit
card, debit card, and electronic benefits transfer (EBT).
